Our impact reports

We are committed to measuring the impact of work using a range of quantitative and qualitative measures. We also love hearing from our volunteers, teachers and children about the transformative effect of the programme on their lives!

Over the 2021-22 academic year, Chapter One (then called Innovations for Learning) supported 1,599 children to read confidently through one-to-one, weekly sessions delivered by our online reading volunteers drawn from 71 corporate partners.

Read more about what our community of schools, volunteers, supporters and partners have helped us achieve by downloading our report below. The report goes beyond an examination of our work in the last year, retracing our journey supporting children's reading since we launched in the UK in 2018.

“The difference the reading volunteers make is real, it is almost immediate. Especially with Year 1, [Chapter One's programme] is transformative to a child’s educational experience and, ultimately - and I don’t say this with any exaggeration - to their life chances.”
