At Chapter One, we strive to help students become proficient and passionate life-long readers, and today, we are excited to announce the launch of our Global Free Library. This new initiative is a completely free online collection of stories that celebrates the world and allows us to support children around the globe.

To build this vibrant library, we commissioned authors and illustrators to create original content using their authentic voices and life experiences. The collection includes stories about cultural experiences, immigrant stories, people with disabilities, environmental justice, gender equality, and indigenous communities. This is only the beginning!

The Global Free Library is a place for children to explore and learn about the world around them while being inspired to practice their reading both by themselves and with family, friends, and teachers.

It has content for students in kindergarten through second grade and is designed to be a safe place for children to explore. There are no advertisements, no offers for premium content, and no use of private information. Each story has been vetted for child appropriateness. For many stories, both the author and the illustrator have created a video of themselves describing their motivation in creating the story.

The stories are stunningly illustrated to capture the imagination of every child, and Chapter One is always looking for new authors and illustrators who want to inspire the next generation of avid readers.

We hope these stories will inspire both the children and adults who read them for years to come.
