Director, K12 Partnerships

About Chapter One

Chapter One is a global education non-profit with a mission to ensure all children experience a successful first chapter of their educational journey to instill the motivation and confidence to continue turning pages for lifelong learning. To do this, Chapter One offers 1:1 high-impact tutoring services, small group fluency and comprehension programs, and volunteer-led reading engagement partnerships for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Collectively, Chapter One served nearly 40,000 students during the 23-24 school year across its various programs.

Why now?

This will be the first school year where school districts do not have access to ESSER funds, meaning they must be much more conscientious about their spending. Nevertheless, the need for academic recovery and acceleration remain. Chapter One is uniquely positioned to serve districts during this critical time, as our program is ESSA Tier 1 certified while leveraging an innovative short-burst instructional model, allowing us to be both cost-effective and scalable.

We currently have staff members covering partnerships along the East Coast - from Florida to Maine. While there is no expectation for this new hire to cover the rest of the country, we are offering the new Director, K12 Partnerships the opportunity to self-select ripe opportunities from the remainder of the US. We expect this to include expanding our operations in the Midwest area, continuing current conversations with districts in Texas, making California districts aware of our new partnership with San Francisco Unified and our proven partnership with New Haven Unified, and/or developing new opportunities in locations where Chapter One has never worked before.
