As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing content and campaigns that engage audiences and drive revenue, as well as proactively building and managing the brand and improving the awareness and understanding of Chapter One programs across a range of audiences including corporate supporters, schools, families, foundations and other donors.

A significant part of your role will involve crafting compelling grant applications and formulating clear, persuasive messages in line with Chapter One brand guidelines for a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will also be responsible for managing all Chapter One Canada social media channels, ensuring brand consistency across all materials, and supporting the Chapter One team with the creation of presentations, applications, supporting documents and newsletters for internal and external stakeholders.

This is a remote work-from-home position, however you must be residing in, and have the right to work in Canada.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily marketing activities, from PR, media liaison, and social media campaigns (organic and paid), to SEO, event management, and brand stewardship

  • Maintain and regularly update the Chapter One Canada website with information regarding corporate partnerships, schools, and familiesChampion innovative marketing and communication strategies, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance digital engagement, including webinars, landing pages and marketing automation

  • Collaborate closely with Chapter One’s US and UK teams to align with brand messaging, ensuring seamless integration of Chapter One Canada’s activities with global initiativesEnsure all external materials are consistent with Chapter One branding

  • Support the Chapter One team, including the CEO, with internal and external communications materials as required

  • Regularly monitor and evaluate key performance indicators, reporting on the efficacy of marketing activities in achieving fundraising goals.

  • Manage any external design, web and creative agencies/contractors

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a non-profit environment, preferably in a marketing or communications role

  • Experience pitching and coordinating with media, handling media enquiries and generating news stories

  • Experience in handling and responding to corporate partnership inquiries and collaborative initiatives

  • Proficient in graphic design, including tools such as Adobe suite and Canva

  • Proven track record of driving social media campaigns and tailoring content to specific platforms

  • Excellent understanding of employee engagement landscape and corporate social responsibility structures and priorities in Canadian businesses

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with corporate teams to secure sponsorships and foster long-term partnerships

  • Strong creative and innovative thinking abilities

  • Diplomacy in difficult situations and ability to inspire others

  • Ability to manage a challenging and varied workload and work under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills with internal team members and external stakeholders

  • Exceptionally strong independent work ethic

  • Desire to help strengthen a small but growing organization

  • Ability to pass an RCMP background check
